Assignment description
The Data Platform designs and develops data-centric digital services to provide teams with reliable data accessible through APIs, simplify and accelerate analytical processing, and promote alignment between operational and decision-making systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design solutions.
• Lead analysis and define the scope.
• Write technical and functional specifications.
• Prepare acceptance testing.
• Monitor implementation with the Scrum team.
• Model business objects within the domain on the Big Data platform.
• Specify data ingestion flows, delivering interface contracts and mapping specifications.
• Design data exposure services, including web services and database models, in collaboration with the Data Governance team.
• Take responsibility for the functional aspects of the assigned data domain.
• Manage enhancement requests and defects reported by data consumers.
• Fulfil Agile responsibilities: manage the product backlog, define user stories, lead sprint planning and facilitate the Agile team’s activities.

Technical environment and required expertise

• Design data solutions and scope requirements.
• Write technical and functional specifications.
• Prepare acceptance testing and oversee implementation with the Scrum team.
• Model business objects within a Big Data foundation (MDD).
• Specify data ingestion flows and interface contracts.
• Design data exposure mechanisms, including APIs and database models, with Data Governance.
• Ensure functional consistency across the data domain.
• Build the data product roadmap.
• Ensure consistency across other data products.
• Manage data quality through dashboards and technical debt tracking.
• Assess and document data to give it meaning and context.
• Engage the data community and act as the link between business and IT.
• Manage enhancements and defects reported by users.
• Manage the product backlog and define user stories.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and team progress reviews.
• Manage a portfolio of data projects and their lifecycles.
• Report progress to programme managers or data product leads.
• Work directly with data using advanced SQL, files, APIs and data visualisation.
• Query SQL databases and consume web services.
• Maintain a strong technical understanding of the data ecosystem.
