You'll act as a force multiplier, directly influencing the growth of Stripe's business in EMEA. We trust you to exercise independent judgement and encourage you to bring forward ideas for scaling and streamlining our contracting process. You'll have the opportunity to develop your legal knowledge and technical skills working at the frontier of payments and fintech innovation.ResponsibilitiesSupport the EMEA sales team, leading negotiations and advising on a wide range of commercial and legal issuesBe an integral part of the build out of Stripe's commercial legal infrastructure so that we can scale and operate efficiently at pace with Stripe's exponential growth—this work includes drafting and maintaining Stripe's agreements and playbooks, leading and contributing to projects to improve internal processes and operational efficienciesWork with teams across Stripe, including sales, privacy, operations, product, tax, and risk groupsDevelop and deliver training and other resources to help the Sales team sell our productsBe a point of escalation for outside counselWho you areWe're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.Minimum requirements7+ years of relevant experience as a lawyer in-house or in a technology practice group in a top law firmIntellectually curious and a creative problem solver—Stripe's products and our industry are complex and ever evolving—you relish learning new things and finding creative solutions to challenging problems A self-starter with a bias for action—you're proactive and have a strong sense of ownershipA clear and concise communicator (in written and verbal forms), who distills the key risks and explains complex, nuanced issues in plain and simple termsA natural collaborator, able to guide cross-functional teams and drive to a win-win solutionFamiliar with the range of legal issues and commercial risks that arise in connection with hosted data and technology servicesA team player who is willing to do what it takes to contribute to the collective success High professional fluency in French and EnglishPreferred qualificationsExperience working in payment or fintech industries and knowledge of associated regulatory issuesIn-house experience advising high-growth technology companiesA working knowledge of relevant data protection and AI regulations
