We're looking for an experienced Lead Digital Solutions Architect to take ownership of secure systems integration and smart building delivery for high-profile smart building projects across France, ideally based in Lyon or Paris. This is a technically demanding role, focused on delivering a high-performing and cyber-secure integration layer across building systems, in close coordination with contractors, facility management teams and IT. This role is ideally suited to a professional with strong cybersecurity expertise alongside smart building systems integration skills. The role also offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of new services, solutions and market growth in the European region. You'll play a central role not only in delivering project outcomes, but also in shaping FPC's smart building offering across a growing portfolio of clients. Fluency in French and English is essential. Key Responsibilities. System Architecture & Integration Leadership.
- Own the design and delivery of the Independent Data Layer (IDL) across building systems including BMS, HVAC, lighting, metering and controls.
- Define IP schema, VLAN segregation, zoning structure and naming conventions to support scalable, secure integration.
- Review and validate contractor submittals to ensure alignment with project design intent, standards and integration architecture.
- Oversee development and documentation of interface control documents (ICDs), point schedules and architecture diagrams.
- Support development of integration test plans and functional testing scripts to validate system interoperability.
- Ensure integration design complies with NIS2, GDPR and internal security policies.
- Work with client-side IT and security teams to ensure secure data transfer, network segmentation and endpoint protection.
- Support definition and implementation of firewall policies, IP allow lists and secure interconnects across systems.
- Coordinate secure onboarding and configuration of IT-connected building systems.
- Lead the documentation and review of cyber risk mitigation measures specific to building systems and operational technology (OT).
- Act as the technical lead for on-site delivery: coordinate with MEP contractors, system vendors, commissioning teams and consultants.
- Lead technical reviews, inspections and commissioning validation to ensure integration quality and data readiness.
- Serve as the key interface for technical issue resolution, risk escalation and delivery assurance reporting.
- Support the production of structured close-out documentation and technical handover packs.
- Monitor installation quality and provide field-level technical support during system bring-up and validation phases.
- Contribute to the definition and evolution of FPC's smart building integration services in the EU region.
- Support business development activity by providing input to proposals, solution design and regional delivery planning.
- Help shape local service offers that reflect client needs, regulatory frameworks and technology trends.
- Act as a technical ambassador for FPC within client, consultant and partner communities.
- Identify repeatable delivery models, reference architectures, and commercial levers to scale FPC's European offering.
- Identify strategic gaps in local market offerings and propose new service components that respond to evolving client expectations.
- Preferred: Degree in Engineering, Building Services, IT, or related technical field preferred.
- Industry expertise and certifications (e.g. KNX, Niagara AX/N4, CCNA) may substitute formal academic qualifications.
- Certifications in systems integration, cybersecurity, or networking (e.g. CCNA, ISO27001, Niagara, KNX) are advantageous.
- Industry Expertise:
- 7+ years in digital buildings or technical systems integration roles, including site-based project delivery
- Experience delivering smart systems scopes on major commercial, investor, or critical infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of contractor-side integration processes, commissioning stages and MEP coordination best practice
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of BMS, HVAC, lighting and metering system interfaces and data structures
- Deep expertise in cybersecurity frameworks and secure design principles for smart building systems, including NIS2, ISO27001, and GDPR compliance.
- Proficient in IP networking, VLAN segmentation and secure data transmission methods
- Experience producing and reviewing technical documentation including schematics, ICDs and close-out packs
- Familiarity with modern device management, network security, and endpoint protection platforms (e.g. JumpCloud, Cisco Meraki, CrowdStrike) is advantageous.
- Soft Skills:
- Fluent in French and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders, system vendors and delivery contractors
- Strong personal organisation and problem-solving mindset, able to operate independently in fast-paced projects
- Collaborative, accountable and able to represent FPC with professionalism in client and partner settings
