Senior SAP Basis Consultant – RISE with SAP Migration Advisory

Contract Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Basis Consultant to support a large-scale SAP transformation programme involving migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA through RISE with SAP.

This is a client-facing advisory role requiring a seasoned consultant who has successfully delivered multiple enterprise-scale ECC-to-HANA transformations and can provide strategic guidance throughout the migration journey. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders to define migration approaches, data archiving strategies, content server decisions, and overall technical architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the lead SAP Basis advisor for a major ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformation programme.
• Provide expert guidance on RISE with SAP migration strategy and best practices.
• Assess and advise on data migration approaches, including large-scale database and legacy data considerations.
• Support decision-making around content management and archiving solutions, including:
  • Existing SAP Content Server environments
  • SAP DMS integration
  • OpenText and alternative document management solutions
  • Data retention and archiving strategies
• Conduct technical and business workshops with client stakeholders.
• Advise on migration risks, dependencies, and technical readiness.
• Develop recommendations for managing historical and legacy data during migration.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application, and business teams throughout the programme lifecycle.
• Provide practical guidance based on experience from multiple ECC-to-HANA transformation projects.

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive SAP Basis experience within large enterprise environments.
• Proven experience delivering RISE with SAP programmes for global organisations operating across 50+ countries.
• Strong track record leading ECC to SAP HANA and/or SAP S/4HANA migrations.
• Experience managing large SAP environments, including databases exceeding 2.5TB and legacy data estates of 3.5TB+.
• Deep understanding of:
  • SAP Content Server
  • SAP DMS
  • OpenText solutions
  • SAP data archiving strategies
  • Data volume management
• Ability to assess unknown or complex data landscapes and define suitable migration approaches.
• Experience working through multiple migration methodologies and tailoring approaches to specific client requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills.
• Comfortable facilitating workshops and presenting recommendations to both technical and business audiences.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred Experience

• Experience across multiple global SAP transformation programmes.
• Exposure to regulated industries with significant document retention requirements.
• Knowledge of SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) and archiving frameworks.
• Experience advising executive stakeholders and programme leadership teams.

Contract Details

• Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract with likely extensions.
• Start Date: ASAP.
• Location: Hybrid / Client Site as required.
• Travel: On-site workshops required; all reasonable travel and accommodation expenses paid.
