About this Role

Swiss Re is a leading global reinsurer with strong ambitions for core European Life & Health markets, including France. As the Life & Health leader for France, member of the Paris branch Executive Committee and fully responsible for our footprint in the French L&H market , you will take direct P&L responsibility for the L&H French market.

Main characteristics and objectives of the Market Head role are:

• L&H Market Head for France and Chief Market leader for national accounts in France. Responsible for designing, proposing, and executing our strategy in the French market and achieving the financial targets in a compliant manner with all SR guidelines, underwriting and pricing parameters, and best practices as well as Code of Conduct
• Strong focus on positioning Swiss Re L&H in the market, growing traditional market share, as well as identifying and generating new opportunities for tailor-made business and new sources of income in the fields of Transactions and Solutions
• Lead a group of client managers (line manager responsibilities) and lead the cross-functional market team with entrepreneurial spirit including colleagues from Products, Business Development, Claims, Finance, etc. to achieve the quantitative and qualitative market objectives (Must Wins)
• Drive a comprehensive approach based on clients' needs analysis and prioritize initiatives considering the economic profit contribution of the client relationship (segmentation)
• Actively contribute to Swiss Re's overall strategy implementation in the French market in close cooperation with the Branch Executive Committee, maximizing synergies and cooperation across Lines of Businesses and assure we are perceived by the market as one Swiss Re team

About You

• Strong knowledge of the L&H business in France, i.e., distribution, products, services and economics. Experience and expertise in the Transactions space will be a plus
• Self-confidence, entrepreneurial spirit, listening and cooperating attitude, internal and external networking capabilities, opinion leader, communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent understanding of Insurance and Reinsurance for the French market, including key competitors, distribution channels, market trends and dynamics
• Strong leader, able to coach, monitor and develop people
• Several years of practice in insurance and/or reinsurance or similar industries (e.g., actuarial consultancy), with track record as successful market leader and dealmaker
