Scope of Role
ITRS is looking for a Systems & Network Administrator to own and run our mobile platform, network infrastructure and mobile device fleet in Paris, and to keep them performing without interruption.
Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day health of the mobile platform and the network that supports it. We are looking for someone with strong network infrastructure expertise, who can design and build a complete network from the ground up, not only maintain one.
The role is based in our Paris office and offers a hybrid work scgedule. You will work on-site alongside the IT Manager in our local data-centers for hardware maintenance, physical interventions and hands-on troubleshooting, and you will provide Tier 1 to Tier 3 support to users and infrastructure.
You will supervise the Operations Team dedicated to the mobile platform, including training and guiding the apprentice assigned to it day to day. You will also deliver core IT projects and work daily, in English, with international teams across ITRS.
As a Systems & Network Administrator, you will:
- Oversee and maintain the mobile platform, network infrastructure and fleet of mobile devices to guarantee continuous operational performance.
- Design, build and document network infrastructure, from architecture and addressing through to switching, routing, firewalls and wireless.
- Monitor platform and network health, and find and fix the root cause of incidents rather than only the symptoms.
- Supervise and work closely with the Operations Team dedicated to the mobile platform.
- Train, guide and work daily with the apprentice assigned to the mobile platform, building their skills on the job.
- Support the IT Manager on-site in our data-centers whenever hands-on support, hardware maintenance or troubleshooting is needed.
- Provide Tier 1 to Tier 3 support to users and infrastructure, and escalate or resolve issues at the right level.
- Take an active part in core IT team projects, and deliver the ones you own on time.
- Handle daily technical communication in English with international teams, keeping colleagues informed on changes, incidents and progress.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a systems and network administrator, with strong, hands-on network infrastructure expertise.
- Experience designing and building a complete network infrastructure, not only operating an existing one.
- Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and equipment: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, VPN and Wi-Fi.
- Experience managing a mobile platform and a fleet of mobile devices, including enrolment, configuration and security.
- Hands-on experience working in data-centers, including hardware installation, cabling and maintenance.
- Experience providing Tier 1 to Tier 3 support across users and infrastructure.
- Experience supervising, training or mentoring others, such as junior staff, apprentices or an operations team.
- Professional working proficiency in English, written and spoken, and fluency in French.
- Ability to work on-site in our Paris office and travel to local data-centers as needed.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools. (desirable)
- Networking certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP. (desirable)
Key competencies
- Strong technical troubleshooting and structured problem-solving under pressure.
- Ownership and reliability; treats uptime and service continuity as personal responsibilities.
- Leadership and coaching; brings out the best in a small team and an apprentice.
- Clear communication in English with technical and non-technical colleagues across countries.
- Planning and delivery discipline across support work and projects.
- Documentation habits that leave systems easier for others to run.
Benefits
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Flexible Hybrid Working
- Enhanced Parental Leave
- Travel Insurance
- Life Assurance
- Income Protection
- Referral Bonus
- Buy and Sell Holiday
- Training Reimbursement
