For two decades, Tarik Kiswanson has engaged with themes of loss, memory, and regeneration through an expansive interdisciplinary practice. His works are shaped by legacies of displacement and transformation, which are essential to both their form and the modes of sensing they produce. While retaining an attachment to the intimate and personal, his practice extends to address universal concerns and broader historical, political and social narratives of rupture and reconstruction. His art engages with the architecture of the spaces in which it is exhibited, transcending conventional modes of representation to create holistic encounters.

Tarik Kiswanson’s practice engages with material culture and the mnemonic capacities of objects, interrogating the enduring aftermath of war and displacement across varied historical and geopolitical contexts. His projects examine how artifacts produced during or in the aftermath of trauma can be recontextualized as sites of resilience and collective historical consciousness. By exploring the language of objects, Kiswanson’s archaeology of memory gives voice to the unspeakable. Rather than reconciling the contradictions of our history, he makes them visible, underscoring their reverberations across generations and geographies.

Tarik Kiswanson comes from a Palestinian family that was exiled from Jerusalem, by way of Tripoli and Amman, before finally settling in Halmstad, Sweden, where he was born in 1986. Kiswanson spent ten years in London where he studied art before relocating to Paris, where he has lived and worked since 2010. He received his MFA from École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (2014) and BFA from Central Saint Martins-University of the Arts London (2010).

Tarik Kiswanson was awarded the Marcel Duchamp Prize in 2023 at Centre Pompidou. His work has been the subject of several solo exhibitions at institutions, most recently at Gothenburg Konstmuseum (2026), Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (2025), Fundação Iberê Camargo (2025), Kunsthalle Portikus (2024), Bonniers Konsthall (2023), Salzburger Kunstverein (2023), Museo Tamayo (2023), and Carré d’Art-Musée d’art contemporain (2021). He has participated in group exhibitions and biennials at institutions such as Centre Pompidou, Moderna Museet, Fundação de Serralves, Qattan Foundation, the 15th Baltic Triennial, Abu Dhabi Public Art Biennale, Gothenburg International Biennial for Contemporary Art, Lyon Biennial of Contemporary Art, The Ural Biennial and Performa Biennial.

Tarik Kiswanson is a member of the scientific committee of the Édouard Glissant Art Fund and is currently pursuing a PhD at Lund University.

Production Manager - Tarik Kiswanson Studio
Tarik Kiswanson Studio is looking for a Production Manager to join the studio 3-4 days a week.
We are seeking an organized, proactive, and experienced Production Manager to oversee and coordinate the production and logistics of the studio’s artworks.
Working closely with Tarik Kiswanson, the Studio Manager, and the wider team, the Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing artwork production from the initial concept and development stages through to fabrication, installation, and exhibition. The role requires strong project management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
The role requires a flexible and hands-on approach, as well as a willingness and ability to travel as needed in connection with productions, installations, exhibitions, and commissions.

Key Responsibilities

Artwork production
• Organizing the production of new artworks, serving as both a link and support between the artist and external collaborators.
• Managing artwork production budgets, quotes, and invoices.
• Monitoring timelines and ensuring that production deadlines are met on time.
• Monitoring and updating a production overview of all projects.
• Ensuring material sourcing and deliveries in coordination with the Research Assistant.
• Working with the 3D Assistant on the technical requirements of artworks and installation instructions.
• Coordinating between the studio and the technical and production teams of institutions.
• Coordinating the installation of exhibitions, mounting, and deinstallation.
• Resolving day-to-day operational and technical issues that might arise during production.
• Maintaining and updating the list of external service providers.

Transport & Logistics in collaboration with Studio Manager
• Coordinating the packing, transportation, and storage of artworks
• Organizing the transportation of artworks to museums, and other external locations
• Coordinating and following up on artwork condition reports, ensuring documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Description du profil recherché

You are a highly organized, reliable, and solution-oriented with strong operational and logistical skills, coupled with excellent communication and project management abilities. You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and remaining calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift. You bring a flexible and hands-on approach to your work and are willing and able to travel as required.

• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is highly desirable.
• Previous solid production experience working in an artist’s studio, museum, cultural institution, architecture or design practice, or a related production environment is highly valued.
• A strong attention to detail and solid experience in production coordination are essential.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Adobe Creative Suite is required. Familiarity with 3D software is highly desirable.
