The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Product Transition Manager to design and execute seamless, customer-centric product migration plans.
In this role, you will be the hands-on, driving force behind post-merger integrations and major product releases/sunsets. You will be responsible for building the actual blueprints—migration, deployment, and communication plans—that will move thousands of customers and years of legacy data into a unified, superior future state.
You will dive into the technical "how" of a migration while simultaneously navigating the complex human and organizational "why" to ensure every product change is a positive and frictionless experience for our customers.
What You'll Do
Customer-First Focus:
In close partnership with Customer Success, champion a customer-centric approach every step of the way, from product development to migration execution.Build the Blueprint:
Develop comprehensive, technical migration and deployment plans that account for data integrity, feature parity, and system performance. This includes defining the technical approach, creating phased rollouts, and setting clear success metrics.Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with product management, engineering, and leadership to determine the optimal path for merging or migrating platforms and/or features to create a unified, superior user experience. This involves evaluating various migration strategies and making data-driven decisions.Draft the Narrative:
Create and execute internal and external communication strategies.Drive Decision-Making:
Act as the primary decision-maker in high-pressure, high-conflict settings. You will be responsible for breaking deadlocks between competing product visions and technical constraints.Risk Management & Communication:
Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with the migration. Regularly report on progress, challenges, and key decisions to executive leadership and all relevant stakeholders.
Who You Are
This role sits at the intersection of every department, often without formal authority over the teams you need. Success requires:
Influence Without Power:
You must build deep, trust-based relationships across Engineering, Sales, Finance, Professional Services and Customer Success to drive alignment and exert influence despite lacking direct reporting lines.Technical Acumen:
You possess a strong understanding of software development lifecycles, system architecture, and common migration methodologies. You are comfortable discussing technical challenges and solutions with engineers.Strategic & Analytical Thinking:
You can see the big picture while also managing the granular details. You are skilled at using data to inform decisions and can articulate a complex strategy clearly and concisely.Exceptional Communication:
You can effectively communicate technical and business concepts to a diverse audience, from engineers to senior executives and customers.Customer Obsession:
You have a proven track record of designing solutions with the user's experience at the forefront.Conflict Resolution:
Proactively identify and resolve friction points. You don't avoid difficult conversations; you facilitate them to reach the best outcome for the product and the customer.
Qualifications
Must-have:
Business-level fluency in English required.
Proven Experience:
5+ years experience in Product Management, Technical Program Management, or M&A Integration, specifically involving platform consolidation or large-scale customer migrations.Technical Depth:
You can "speak engineer." You understand system architecture, APIs, and data schemas enough to identify risks before they become blockers.Change Management / Project Management Mastery:
Professional experience in formal project management and/or change management methodologies, with a track record of moving organizations through high-friction transitions.Global Perspective:
Experience working in a global, distributed organization with an understanding of how to adapt strategies for different international markets.Decisiveness:
A history of making hard, data-driven decisions in environments where there is no easy answer or consensus.
Nice-to-have
Certifications in project management (PMP, Agile) or change management.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Fluency in French or German is preferred.
