About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Science Associate to join our core Science & Methodology team. This is a hybrid role equal parts scientific algorithm design and client-facing ecodesign support. You’ll help us build the logic behind our product, refine our data and methodology, and work directly with clients to improve the sustainability of real-world products.

This role is for someone who thrives on both rigorous academic thinking and practical execution . You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and client teams translating science into features, guidance, and impact.

What You’ll Do

• Design and improve algorithms for modeling the environmental impacts of ingredients, formulations, and packaging
• Maintain and evolve our multi-indicator LCA methodology (across 16+ impact categories)
• Collaborate with product and tech teams to integrate science into software workflows and user-facing features
• Investigate and resolve data gaps; improve data quality, traceability, and transparency
• Support clients in using our platform for ecodesign decisions, ingredient selection, and impact reduction
• Contribute to white papers, methodology docs, and external communications
• Stay up-to-date with LCA best practices, regulatory frameworks (like CSRD), and database evolution
• Help ensure scientific integrity across the platform, from backend models to frontend user experience

Mandatory Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in LCA modeling (ecoinvent, EF 3.0, or similar databases)
• PhD (or equivalent experience) in environmental science, LCA, chemical engineering, or related field
• Fluent in both French and English , written and spoken
• Experience translating technical concepts to diverse audiences (internal and external)
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, collaborative, startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Brightway2, openLCA, SimaPro or custom LCA model-building tools
• Solid programming skills in Python (pandas, Jupyter, numpy, SQL)
• Background in cosmetics, chemicals, ingredients, or packaging LCA
• Familiarity with ISO 14040/44, PEF, CSRD, and sustainability reporting frameworks
• Experience working directly with clients, especially in B2B or consulting contexts
• Based in or near Paris
