Engineering Director - Health Companion App - Paris (x/f/m)

The Challenge:

We're looking for an Engineering Director to lead our Patient Health Companion organization, a key initiative transforming Doctolib into a daily health companion , enabling everyone to manage their health and wellbeing proactively . You'll oversee 4 engineering teams and their managers, including our flagship Health Companion for Parents of young children, which aims to revolutionize how we support parents to care proactively for their children's health and wellbeing.

As a key leader of one of France's most downloaded apps , you'll build and scale multiple engineering teams creating innovative, personalized healthcare solutions that millions rely on daily. Your teams will work across:

• Incredible experience for our AI-powered chat that combines top notch medical expertise with artificial intelligence

• Sophisticated recommendation systems that deliver personalized content and actionable health insights and actions

• Engaging mobile experiences that make health management intuitive and accessible

• Growth strategies to bring these transformative services to millions

Your Impact:

• Build and scale a world-class engineering organization , mentoring engineering managers and staff engineers across multiple technical domains while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation

• Drive the technical vision and strategy for our Patient Health Companions, ensuring alignment with Doctolib's broader mission, business and product goals

• Lead the development of groundbreaking healthcare experiences including AI-powered chat support, sophisticated recommendation systems, and intuitive mobile interfaces

• Establish engineering practices and architecture that enable rapid experimentation while maintaining the highest standards of quality, security, and scalability

• Partner with product, design, and healthcare professionals to ensure our solutions address real health needs while delivering exceptional user experiences

• Define and execute acquisition and growth strategies to bring our health companions to millions of users across Europe

• Shape the future of healthcare technology by pioneering solutions that make healthcare more accessible, personalized, and effective

Your Profile

You're a seasoned engineering leader with a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing teams. You combine technical excellence with strategic vision and have a passion for creating technology that transforms lives.

Core qualifications:

• Leadership excellence: 5+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers and staff engineers across diverse technical domains

• Team building: Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain exceptional engineering talent

• Technical depth: Strong foundation in software engineering, distributed systems, and architecture, with the ability to guide technical decisions across mobile and backend systems

• Strategic vision: Ability to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps and align engineering efforts with company strategy

• Healthcare passion: Genuine interest in healthcare innovation and improving patient outcomes through technology

• Growth mindset: Track record of scaling engineering organizations while maintaining culture and quality

• User-centricity: Deep empathy for users and commitment to building products that address their needs

Bonus points for:

• Experience building consumer health products or working in healthcare technology

• Background in AI/ML systems, recommendation engines, or content platforms

• Track record of launching and growing successful mobile applications

• Experience working with medical professionals or in regulated environments
