Job Description
1. Responsible for asset, IT and facility operation management of European regional IDC;
2. Collaborate with internal/external stake-holders to define data center operations;
3. Daily operation and maintenance
• Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance and management of the data center, formulate the operation and maintenance strategy and plan of the data center infrastructure, ensure the stability of the facilities, and balance the operation and maintenance quality, efficiency, cost and safety
• Through the digital operation and maintenance management of the facilities, improve the control and bottom-line capabilities of the computer room, and ensure that various indicators such as the timely maintenance rate and the risk closed loop rate meet the standards.
4. Safety and compliance
• Implement the safety production requirements of all positions in the data center, promote the compliance operation of the data center in environmental protection, fire protection, occupational health, legal affairs, integrity, etc., and prevent major accidents of personnel/equipment, administrative penalties/orders for rectification and other passive regulatory events.
• Identify safety and compliance risks, establish and improve risk management mechanisms, and be responsible for reporting and tracking major events.
• Establish local resource network management, promote the all-round deepening of relations with the local government, and provide solid guarantees for the stable, safe and compliant operation of the local area.
5. Optimization and improvement
• Responsible for the optimization of the facility operation and maintenance work of the data center under its jurisdiction, and formulate/sort out the Alibaba IDC operation and maintenance management system, operation manual, emergency management process and emergency operation plan.
• Responsible for the energy efficiency optimization of Alibaba IDC to achieve efficient operation of the computer room.
• Responsible for coordinating the operating cost team, through the establishment of cost analysis models and human efficiency models, to achieve refined analysis and control of cost efficiency and achieve business goals.
6. Technical support
• Responsible for the technical management of the data center operation and maintenance side, and can lead the team to provide technical support for data center design, equipment selection and other technical iterations through technical management.
• Undertake on-site technical support for business equipment, understand business needs and network structure, and effectively support data center operations through teamwork.
7. Team management
• Responsible for the daily management, assessment, talent team building, and capacity training of the data center operation and maintenance team, plan technical training for data center operation and maintenance personnel, and improve the service level of the operation and maintenance team.
• Establish smooth communication channels with operators, superiors and other departments to prevent data center operation risks and ensure the compliance of Alibaba's operation strategy requirements.
Position Requirement
1. Bachelor degree in a technical or business field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of data center supply chain and logistics experience.
3. Experience collaborating with individuals across internal and external organizations, and other geographies.
4. Able to execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
5. Must be "hands-on" and willing to roll up sleeve to support operational activities.
6. Experience with data center hardware, including servers and network equipment.
7. Experienced in managing asset related daily operational activities.
8. Good analytical skills to query on data sources and able to gather insights from complex data.
9. Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese is preferred.
