QA Release Engineer

The AdaCore Product Engineering team is looking for a Release Engineer to assist us in our software release processes.

Working in an international team, you will be responsible for continuously improving the company's information systems.

AdaCore products are released on a time-based cycle, with a preview release in October, a major release in February, and a corrective version in July. GNAT Pro is available on over 60 platforms and supports hundreds of runtime profiles (ranging from Full Ada Support to restricted runtimes suitable for safety-critical development). On top of that, AdaCore offers a "sustained branch" service giving our customers the confidence that critical issues, such as a code generation problem, can be addressed in their version of the product. AdaCore also performs tool qualification and provides certification material for compiler runtimes.

In this context, the applicant will be in charge of:

Contributing to the release processes

• In cooperation with the Release Manager, ensure completion of each step of the software release publication process;
• Coordinate with all Product Engineering teams regarding the selection of fixes and improvements to be included in each release;
• Maintain and improve the documentation of AdaCore's release process;
• Continuously improve the traceability, tracking, and quality of our release processes.

Monitoring the build and test results

• Analyze nightly builds and tests;
• Perform a root cause analysis of encountered issues;
• Cooperate with all Product Engineering teams for fixing these issues.

Optimizing resources

• Optimize use of infrastructure resources;
• Simplify and improve software delivery/release processes through continuous improvement.

Skills/Qualification:

• Good understanding of various build technologies, good knowledge of a packaging system would be a plus;
• Good understanding of the Windows and Linux operating systems;
• Basic knowledge of a compiled language (for example C, C++, or Rust)
• Attention to detail and procedures;
• At ease in a very fast-changing environment;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
• Strong teamwork skills, willingness to share, discuss, and improve.
