Remuneration: €59,000 - €76,000 gross per year (depending on profile) + Equity

The Role: A Mission for Elite Engineers

This is not a standard development role. We are mandated to find exceptional Senior Backend Engineers to join our client's elite team in Paris. The selected candidates will be instrumental in designing the future of the platform, evolving its architecture from a monolith to a distributed microservices system, and pioneering the integration of Generative AI to create a genuine competitive advantage.

You will operate within an autonomous, cross-functional squad, collaborating with top-tier Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Designers to solve complex challenges that define the future of European e-commerce.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Evolution: Actively contribute to the design and implementation of a scalable, resilient, and performant microservices architecture.
• Core Feature Development: Design, develop, and maintain critical backend services using PHP 8.3 (Laravel 10) and/or Go .
• AI Integration: Explore and implement innovative features leveraging Generative AI, transforming the product offering and user experience.
• Technical Excellence: Write clean, maintainable, and rigorously tested code. Champion best practices in software engineering, including comprehensive code reviews and robust documentation.
• Mentorship: Mentor other engineers, elevating the team's technical capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• System Reliability: Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure the stability and high availability of the production environment.

\n\nProfil recherché\n Candidate Profile: Non-Negotiable Requirements

Our client has exceptionally high standards. This is a highly selective role, and candidates will only be considered if they meet the following specific criteria:

Professional Pedigree: You must have a minimum of 5 years of professional backend engineering experience , with a significant portion of that time spent at a reputable, high-growth scale-up or a technology company renowned for its engineering excellence .

Your background must demonstrate a clear ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Technical Mastery:

• Demonstrable expertise in either PHP (with a modern framework like Laravel or Symfony) or Go . Proficiency in both is a significant asset.
• Proven experience in designing and building RESTful APIs and working within a microservices architecture .
• Strong command of database design and optimization, particularly with MySQL .

Location & Commitment: This is a hybrid role based in our client's Paris headquarters.

Candidates must reside in the Paris metropolitan area . The requirement for 3 days of on-site presence is mandatory to ensure optimal collaboration.

Language: Absolute fluency in English is essential , as it is the official working language for all internal communication, documentation, and meetings.

Additional Valued Expertise

• Hands-on experience with message queuing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ ).
• Knowledge of search technologies such as Elasticsearch .
• Familiarity with our client's cloud and containerisation stack ( GCP , Kubernetes ).
• A strong product-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
