Spore.Bio is a deeptech start-up founded in 2023, building a new paradigm in quality control systems for the Food & Beverage, Cosmetics, and Pharmaceutical industries.

After spending time in factory environments, we saw how challenging it was to ensure product safety. Traditional microbiological testing is slow and resource-intensive. That’s why we created Spore.Bio — a new generation of microbiological monitoring powered by advanced optical and deep-learning technologies, capable of detecting bacterial contamination within seconds.

About the internship

We are looking for a motivated R&D intern in microbiology to join our growing team and contribute to the development and validation of our next-generation microbial detection platform. Working closely with our R&D scientists, you will participate in experimental design, microbiological assays, and data analysis — at the intersection of biology, photonics, and artificial intelligence.

Your main missions will include:

• Experimental Design: Plan and conduct microbiology experiments, contribute to protocol optimization and methodological development to support the platform’s advancement.
• Data Analysis & Tech Transfer: Analyze experimental results, extract key insights, and contribute to transforming lab findings into practical, standardized protocols.

• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams: Work hand in hand with engineers and data scientists to help build our microbiology data library.

About you

We are looking for a highly ambitious, curious, hands-on, and enthusiastic student eager to learn and grow in an innovative R&D environment.

Your profile:

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in biotechnology, microbiology, or related field (engineering or university background).

• Interest in applied research and innovation in industrial microbiology or biosensing.

• Motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented.

• Familiar with microbiological techniques (culture, plating, aseptic handling, etc.).

• Strong organization and data management skills (Excel, lab notebooks).

• Good communication skills in English (B2 or higher) and team spirit.

No extensive experience is required — what matters most is your curiosity, scientific rigor, and willingness to learn.

Internship details

• Location: Paris

• Duration: 5–6 months (starting January/February 2026 or as agreed)
