Join a French deeptech company building autonomous biospheric systems for high-value plant production on Earth and future life-support applications beyond Earth.

This is a rare opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of complex hardware systems at a pivotal stage, as products move from prototype logic to industrial deployment.

You will join a highly cross-functional team working on ambitious, real-world systems combining mechanical design, manufacturing constraints, fast iterations, and mission-driven engineering.

What you will do :

• Lead mechanical design from concept to production, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability

• Design 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings for complex assemblies

• Own large assemblies and maintain strong revision and configuration control

• Support prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure reliability in real operating conditions

• Optimize designs for industrialization and work closely with manufacturing partners and suppliers

• Drive strong Design for Manufacturing practices across the product lifecycle

• Collaborate closely with systems, electronics, software, design, and plant-science stakeholders

• Participate in design reviews, challenge assumptions, and make pragmatic engineering decisions

• Provide technical guidance and help raise the level of the mechanical team

Stack & environment :

• CAD: Onshape preferred, SolidWorks or CATIA accepted

• Mechanical scope: complex assemblies, enclosure design, structural thinking, manufacturable parts

• Industrialization: supplier follow-up, production constraints, DFM, testing and validation

• Environment: hands-on prototyping, workshop reality, fast iterations, hardware close to field usage

• Organisation: small cross-functional engineering team, mission-driven culture, strong ownership, direct exposure to product and delivery stakes.

Profil recherché

Profile we are looking for :

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing for complex hardware products

• Strong CAD expertise and ability to manage large assemblies cleanly and efficiently

• Real experience taking products from design to manufactured reality

• Solid understanding of materials, industrial processes, testing, validation, and design trade-offs

• Hands-on mindset, comfortable in prototyping and workshop environments

• Ability to work across disciplines in a demanding but collaborative setup

• Strong engineering judgment, with the ability to balance ambition and execution

• Fluent English required, French is a plus

Package & conditions :

• Salary: €60K to €68K gross per year, with possible flexibility depending on seniority

• Contract: full-time permanent role

• Location: Greater Paris area

• Remote: mostly on-site, with limited flexibility
