About the role

We are looking for a Production Assistant (m/w/d) for our YouTube channels fern and Simplicissimus. As a Production Assistant, you will play an important role in the successful planning and execution of our productions. This role currently involves two working days per week. The days of the week may vary.

The majority of our team is based in Germany and the Netherlands. We therefore prefer German-speaking applicants residing in the DACH or Benelux region.

Key Responsibilities

• Support our Producer and Production Coordinator in day-to-day operations and take over selected tasks during absences.

• Assist with internal resource planning and help coordinate capacities and responsibilities within the team.

• Keep track of ongoing projects and maintain project plans.

• Handle credit card management: matching receipts, documenting expenses, and preparing payments for approval.

• Support the organisation of shoots – from location booking and travel planning to coordinating crew and equipment as well as file management.

• Occasionally join larger shoots on set and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Skills and experience 

• Fluent in German with a good command of English.

• First experience in film, TV, or media production through internships, vocational training, or freelance projects.

• Structured, reliable, and self-directed working style – even when managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Good numerical understanding and a careful approach to budgets, receipts, and expense tracking.

• Clear and professional communication skills, both internally and externally.

• Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing requirements.

• A genuine passion for journalistic and creative content.
