The Role

As a Science & Research Communications Lead on the Communications team, you will shape how the world understands Mistral’s scientific breakthroughs. This role exists to build and amplify our Science & Research narrative, positioning our team among the leading AI labs globally. You will drive the strategy for Science Communications, ensuring our discoveries and innovations are accessible, engaging, and influential across the AI community and beyond.

What You Will Do

• Define and execute a global Science Communications strategy across earned, owned, and paid media.

• Build compelling narratives around key milestones, making complex research accessible to AI scientists, developers, journalists, and the broader community.

• Develop proactive storytelling through blog posts, videos, and podcasts that highlight Mistral’s unique scientific contributions in areas like Physics AI and Robotics.

• Position Science team members as thought leaders through high-impact speaking opportunities, media placements, and events.

• Support Mistral’s open-source narrative and highlight our role in the open-source ecosystem.

• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to gather insights and ensure cross-functional alignment.

• Monitor industry discussions on Science, Research, and AI to identify opportunities for Mistral to lead the conversation.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5+ years of experience in Communications, with solid experience in Tech, AI, or Research.

• Solid understanding of AI, with knowledge of Science and Research.

• Track record in Communications within Science, Deep Tech, or AI, ideally in fast-paced tech environments.

• Ability to simplify complex research for diverse audiences, from scientists to the general public.

• Experience crafting creative, high-impact communications campaigns and working with agencies or freelancers.

• Strong writing and storytelling skills, with a sharp editorial eye for narratives that resonate.

• Ability to build trust with technical stakeholders and defend positions with clarity and grit.

• Familiarity with the AI scientists’ online community and open-source ecosystem.
