Staff Fullstack Engineer

Sweep is hiring a Staff Fullstack Engineer to work on our sustainability data management platform.

Climate change is the defining challenge of our era, and technology is at the center of the fight. Sweep is arming companies with tools to manage their climate impact, thereby contributing to a better future for everyone. 

Ok, sounds promising. What will I be doing?

As an integral part of our engineering team, you will help build our innovative SaaS tool that allows companies to measure and track their Carbon and ESG data, set reduction goals and report on progress towards a cleaner future.

To be more specific, this includes:

1. Technical Expertise ⚙️

• Solve complex problems creatively and effectively
• Comprehend the broad architecture of the entire system
• Provide technical advice and influence decisions that impact other teams or the company
• Propose and research new technologies
• Develop and oversee team testing strategies, including multi-engineer testing for complex systems

2. Project Management and Coordination 🔍

• Lead the design, planning, estimation, testing, and coordination for multi-quarter team projects
• Coordinate with other teams on technical issues
• Design and build reliable, high-scale, end-to-end systems
• Aid team members in delivering complex systems on time and within budget
• Manage risks and ensure comprehensive documentation

3. Communication and Leadership 👫

• Improve team skills through code reviews, documentation, and mentoring
• Lead projects with multiple contributors
• Refine team practices in security, reliability, privacy, and compliance
• Identify technical problems, propose solutions, and secure stakeholder support
• Establish methods and procedures for the team
• Interview, recruit, and prepare materials for new engineering candidates

Qualifications  🏆

• You have 8+ years of experience as a full stack software developer
• Deep knowledge of high level programming language like Ruby & React
• Can demonstrate that your work had significant impact on product
• Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities
• Experience as a technical leader of a team
• Drive technical decisions for the team
