Senior Electrical Engineer - Southern Europe
Amazon’s last-mile delivery network in Southern Europe is growing fast — and becoming increasingly electrified. From EV chargers to next-generation sorting technologies, our Delivery Stations (the final logistics hubs from which parcels are dispatched to customers’ doors) are evolving into highly technical environments that demand deep electrical expertise. Today, that expertise is fragmented across operational teams. We’re changing that by creating a dedicated regional electrical authority within the Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) Leadership Team for Amazon Logistics (our last-mile delivery division, operating 200+ stations across Europe). As Senior Electrical Engineer for Southern Europe (France, Italy, Spain), you will be the single point of electrical expertise for our Delivery Station network across the region. This is a senior technical expert role at the leadership level: you won’t manage a team directly, but you will deliver results through others — upskilling field teams, shaping standards, and steering technology projects that will define what our sites look like three years from now. This role is based in Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, or Milan, with approximately 20–25% travel across Southern Europe.Key job responsibilities• Define the electrical strategy for future Delivery Stations: Lead upstream electrical engineering for new site installations and technology deployments (including EV charging infrastructure), partnering with design, construction, and central engineering teams to ensure readiness from Day 1.• Own the 3-year technology roadmap (electrical scope): Evaluate, validate, and prepare the reception of emerging technologies across the Southern Europe network, ensuring electrical systems are designed, specified, and commissioned to the highest safety and performance standards.• Upskill field teams on electrical standards and processes: Design and deliver training programs for field engineers and technicians across three countries, building consistent electrical knowledge and standardised ways of working.• Drive cross-regional knowledge sharing: Establish structured Best Practice and Lessons Learned mechanisms with counterparts in the UK and Central/Northern Europe, ensuring innovations scale across the European network while respecting local regulatory contexts.• Contribute to RME Leadership Team priorities: As a member of the Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering Leadership Team, participate actively in strategic planning, talent bar-raising (conducting interviews to support the team’s significant growth in Europe), and safety governance.About the teamWe are the Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team — the people who keep Amazon’s buildings, equipment, and technologies running every single day so Operations can deliver for customers. Our mission: shift from reactive maintenance to predictive intelligence, where systems help us identify issues and prescribe the fix before operations feel the impact. Amazon’s logistics network is growing more complex every year — shifting from mechanical systems to interconnected, AI-augmented digital systems — and we’re building the engineering capability to match.Basic qualifications- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline- Significant experience in electrical engineering within industrial, logistics, or infrastructure environments- Proven ability to manage complex technical projects across multiple sites and countries- Experience influencing and delivering results through others without direct line management- Fluent English (spoken and written); proficiency in at least one of French, Italian, or SpanishPreferred qualification - Experience with EV charging infrastructure, high-voltage systems, or power distribution design- Knowledge of European electrical regulations across multiple countries (NF C 15-100, CEI 64-8, REBT, etc.)- Experience developing technical training programs or standards at scale- Background in logistics, e-commerce, or high-throughput operational environments- Lean, Six Sigma, or project management certificationAmazon est un employeur engagé pour l'égalité des chances.
