Practice Area

BCG Platinion launched in Germany in 2000 to add deep technical expertise to the Boston Consulting Group's existing capabilities. Today, our presence spans across the globe, with offices in Asia, Europe, and South and North America. Our New York-based North American team began in 2014 and in 2017 acquired MAYA Design, a Pittsburgh-based digital design and innovation lab, to grow our capabilities around technology and design.

We support our clients' total digital transformation through technology, design, cybersecurity, and risk management & financial engineering capabilities. And together with BCG, BCG Platinion's interdisciplinary team of technical experts enable customized technical solutions and accelerate delivery value through new business platforms, application consolidations, and major system implementations.

What You'll Do

As a (Senior) Consultant in AI Architect and Software Engineering, you will partner with client leadership teams to identify, design, and deliver high-impact AI-driven solutions with strong business relevance. You will help organizations translate their strategic ambitions into tangible outcomes-ranging from core system modernization in the banking industry to cutting-edge engineering use cases powered by Generative AI.

• Working closely with BCG and BCG Platinion teams, you will shape and implement digital initiatives that combine advanced technology, software craftsmanship, and business insight. You will design and deliver end-to-end AI solutions-covering problem framing, data strategy, model integration, and scalable deployment-while ensuring measurable value creation.
• You will take ownership of key workstreams, guide client technology and business teams, and ensure delivery quality through agile and modern software engineering practices. You will actively contribute to the diffusion of GenAI capabilities across industries, from experimentation to industrialization.
• You will contribute to BCG Platinion's digital and technology agenda by:
• Developing innovative AI use cases that accelerate client transformation and competitiveness.
• Supporting business development through thought leadership, proposals, and client relationship management.
• Contributing to internal initiatives that strengthen BCG Platinion's expertise in GenAI and enhance BCG's positioning as a leader in AI-enabled transformation.
• You will also benefit from structured training programs, mentorship, and continuous learning opportunities, enabling you to grow as both a technologist and a consultant-combining deep technical understanding with strategic business impact.

What You'll Bring

• 3-7 years of experience in software engineering, data/AI delivery, or technology consulting - ideally within a top-tier consultancy, a tech company, or an innovation-driven environment.
• Hands-on expertise in one or more areas such as GenAI use case implementation, machine learning engineering, data pipelines, cloud-based development, or software modernization - with a demonstrated ability to create measurable business impact.
• Strong understanding of how AI and software solutions translate into business value, from improving customer experience to optimizing operations or enabling new products.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset - able to frame complex challenges, structure pragmatic solutions, and deliver them with technical and operational rigor.
• Collaborative and communicative, capable of working across business and technology teams, facilitating discussions, and aligning diverse stakeholders.
• Experience or familiarity with modern delivery models (agile, DevOps, MLOps) and a willingness to continuously learn and apply emerging GenAI technologies.
• Entrepreneurial drive and curiosity - proactive ownership, initiative, and contribution to innovation and go-to-market efforts within the team.
• High ethical standards and professionalism, fostering client trust and team integrity.
• Degree in STEM, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with strong academic performance.
