Design Manager

We are currently supporting a leading engineering consultancy specialising in mission critical infrastructure with the appointment of an experienced Design Manager to support the delivery of large-scale data centre projects across France and internationally.

This opportunity would suit a technically strong Design Manager with experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across complex data centre, industrial or mission critical environments.

The Opportunity

As Design Manager , you will play a key role in leading and coordinating the full design process across CSA, MEP and architectural packages on major data centre developments.

Working closely with internal engineering teams, external consultants, suppliers and end clients, the Design Manager will ensure all technical deliverables are aligned, compliant, coordinated and delivered to the highest possible standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination of technical and architectural studies across CEA, STR and MEP disciplines

• Manage interfaces between all technical work packages and stakeholders involved in the design process

• Ensure all designs align with client requirements, standards, Basis of Design documentation and technical specifications

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and specialist technical experts

• Oversee harmonisation and quality control of all design deliverables

• Ensure consistency with graphic standards and technical documentation requirements

• Review technical synthesis to guarantee compatibility between all engineering disciplines

• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and data centre standards including TIA, Uptime and ASHRAE

• Supervise supplier and subcontractor consultations during the design phase

• Establish and manage project study schedules and design timelines

• Support the resolution of technical issues and participate in client workshops and project wrap-up meetings

• Monitor financial inputs across CSA and MEP packages

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with experienced Design Manager professionals who bring a strong engineering background alongside proven coordination and project leadership experience within complex technical environments.

Suitable candidates will ideally possess:

• Degree qualification in Engineering, ideally with a specialism in Electrical Engineering or HVAC

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within engineering, technical coordination, project management or design management

• Experience working on mission critical, industrial or high-availability infrastructure projects

• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination across CSA and MEP packages

• Knowledge of data centre standards and regulatory frameworks

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work within fast-paced and technically demanding project environments
