It’s still day 1, come build the future of shopping with us! The People Operations teamAt Joko, credibility starts with reliability. The People Operations team owns and runs the core people processes — contracts, payroll, benefits, compliance, HR systems and data — across France, Spain, and the US. The team is growing fast — because the whole Joko team is, from 100+ people today to 200+ within 18 months. You will join two experienced People Operations Managers, alongside a second new People Operations Manager, and report to our Head of People Operations. People Operations sits within the broader People function, which also covers Talent Acquisition, People Business Partnering, and Workplace Management. What you will doAs a People Operations Manager at Joko, you will help deliver a seamless, compliant, and high-quality employee experience as the company doubles in headcount. The scope is broad and shared across the team, but depending on your strengths, you will take the lead on certain areas such as payroll, compliance, HR administration, HR systems, or people-related projects.Run our core people processes end-to-end: Payroll, contracts, amendments, benefits, visas, and time off across France, Spain, and the US — accurate, compliant, and on time, every time — in smooth coordination with Finance, and handling sensitive data with integrity and confidentiality.Own compliance: Ensure compliance with French labor law and anticipate changes, working hand-in-hand with our Legal team across jurisdictions (FR, ES, US). Keep documentation ready for audits, fundraising, and due diligence, and support disciplinary cases, offboarding, and sensitive processes discreetly.Build systems and data: Help make our HRIS and people data a single source of truth: build and run our HR tools, maintain data accuracy, and provide reliable reporting for planning and reviews.Automate: Document and automate People Ops processes — AI is used daily across Joko, and People Ops is one of the best places to apply it.Deliver a human employee experience: Deliver a seamless onboarding and offboarding experience with your teammates, and make every employee interaction fast, accurate, human, and consistent with our culture.Partner across the company: Be a trusted advisor for managers and employees on People Ops matters, and work closely with Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition, the People Business Partner, and Workplace Management. You take ownership without being asked, you welcome feedback, and you go the extra mile by default.AI fluency: You already use AI tools in your own work and are eager to automate the repetitive parts of People Ops — the People team is expected to lead by example on this front.Collaborative mindset: You enjoy working as part of a small team, dividing ownership flexibly based on strengths.Languages: Fluent in French, fluent in English (our working language).
