Our team of 800 employees counts over 50 nationalities and is spread across our 5 global offices, 30% working fully remotely.Your missionWe are looking for a talented and business oriented tech company experienced lawyer to join the Legal team at BlaBlaCar on a permanent contract starting as soon as possible. Their mission is to support the high speed growth of the marketplace and international expansion of the business.As a Legal Counsel, your role will be to provide support to our marketplace, bus and train business teams on multiple legal practice areas such as commercial contracts, e-commerce, consumer protection and competition law. You will be reporting to the Head of Legal and working with a team of approx. 10 people. Knowledge in EU and FR law is a must; Knowledge of a foreign law (such as laws from Spain, Mexico, Ukraine) is a strong asset.This position requires the capacity of working in a fast growing tech company, of developing a high level of understanding of how our product works and of creating close connections with operational teams. Having an appetite for project management is a must.Your Responsibilities Be a trusted advisor to the marketplace, bus and train business teams in multiple jurisdictions within EU and beyond by providing creative solutions while ensuring compliance with regulations, with a specific focus on our OTA (online travel agency) role;Managing any pre-litigations and litigations;Drafting and negotiating all types of contracts (including commercial contracts, partnership agreements, etc);Collaborate with internal partners, and notably government relations team, to respond to requests from regulators;All other matters which arise in the day to day running of an expanding business;Areas of particular relevance include consumer issues, commercial contracts, transportation regulation, e-commerce, digital law, competition law.Your Qualifications 6 to 8 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in an EU country, with experience in start-ups and new technology companies, either in house or in private practice;Knowledge and experience in dealing with a range of commercial issues such as e-commerce, platform regulation and consumer protection;Knowledge and experience dealing with regulatory topics;Comfortable working in various jurisdictions;Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills;Business oriented, creative and solution driven mind-set;Experience creating and managing processes and moving large-scale project forward;Autonomy and sense of initiative;Ability to work fast and meet aggressive deadlines;Flexibility and eagerness to learn new areas of law;You have excellent communication skills, you’re humble, and you enjoy sharing & learning from others;Full working proficiency in English and French. proficiency in an additional language (e.g. Spanish or Ukrainian) considered a strong asset.Fit with our BlaBlaPrinciples;Nice to have : Experience in the transport industry.What we have to offerHybrid set-up (2- 3 days per week at the office)4 additional weeks on top of legal maternity/paternity leaves50% healthcare coverage (Alan)Financial support for home office equipmentMinimum 25 days holiday per year Local meal plan policy (Swile card)50% transportation paid (Forfait Mobilité Durable)Free unlimited carpooling & bus ridesPersonal growth via trainings, mentorship, and internal mobility opportunitiesEmployee Stock ownership planRegular team building events1 day off per year to test our productInterested in joining the ride?Here’s what your hiring journey will look like.a 45-min video-call with one of our Talent Acquisition Managers to get to know you, understand your career expectations and answer your questionsa 60-min video-call with our Head of Legal to understand your background and motivations and clarifying the position and expectationsa fully remote exercise to evaluate your technical skills, followed by a 60-min video-call to discuss your exercisea 30-min min video-call with our General Counsel for values fit and closing off the process Usually, our hiring process lasts on average 20-25 days and offers usually come within 48 hours.BlaBlaCar is an equal opportunity employer.
