A new role as Regional Senior Natural Resources & Construction Underwriter CEMENA has been created and is located in Paris.

As a Regional Senior Natural Resources & Construction Underwriter CEMENA, your expertise and insights will shape our underwriting strategies and help drive our business forward. You will have the opportunity to work within a matrix environment, collaborating with both local and regional teams to ensure consistency and success. You will report to the Head of Technical Lines & Energy (Natural resources & Construction) CEMENA.

Role responsibilities include:

• Underwriting guidelines & referrals: Support the Regional Head in monitoring underwriting activity to ensure it aligns with business strategy and underwriting guidelines. Act as one of the first point of contact for underwriting referrals to the region in respect of the various products.
• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of accounts in specific clusters or countries.
• Portfolio management: Collaborate with country line Managers and actuaries to monitor portfolio activity and profitability across the region. Identify areas of profitability and loss within individual portfolios. Monitor portfolio review findings, ensure action plans are completed, and track results.
• Training and development: Develop and participate into relevant training programs to equip underwriters with the necessary tools and knowledge within their delegated underwriting authority.
• Underwriting technical audits: Participate in underwriting audits for the Line of Business across the region.
• Peer review: Take part to the peer review processes in accordance with guidelines.

Candidates profile:

• Professional Insurance and/or Engineering qualification with industry experience.
• Extensive experience including involvement with multinational accounts in both Property (Power/Energy) and Construction (CAR/EAR/Civils). Portfolio management experience required.
• Results driven with ability to make own decisions within the scope of underwriting guides and line strategy line and work on own initiative.
• Excellent team worker. Able to work in a matrix environment.
Excellent spoken and written English, fluency in other European language desirable, preferably French or German.
