The context

Our client is a fast-growing tech company headquartered in Paris, operating across several entities in Europe and the United States.

The People team is small relative to a multi-country scope that keeps expanding. Processes exist, but they were built country by country: the priority for the coming months is to harmonise them and make them scale.

That is exactly what this assignment is about.

The assignment

Reporting to the Head of People Ops and working alongside one existing team member, you are the operational backbone of HR across all entities.

International payroll

Manage, audit and run outsourced monthly payroll for France and the international entities across EMEA (Germany, Spain, Italy) and the US

Act as the primary point of contact for external payroll providers and HR platforms — challenge them, arbitrate, protect the deadlines

Collect, prepare, track and verify monthly payroll variables (bonuses, leaves, expenses, severance pay) with zero tolerance for error

Employee lifecycle administration

Coordinate the full employee journey from onboarding to offboarding: employment contracts, addenda, social security affiliations, healthcare and provident scheme enrolment, exit documentation

Maintain and parameterise the HRIS and internal tracking tools to keep data accurate and compliant across every region

Lead the legal and administrative procedures for hiring international talent: work permits, visa sponsorship, registration of foreign employees

Oversee local office administration and facilities workflows

Compliance and process design

Ensure strict adherence to local labour codes — with particular depth on the French Labour Code — internal policies and applicable collective bargaining agreements

Standardise existing workflows and design new, scalable People Ops processes across all entities

Contribute to cross-functional projects: tool integrations, payroll vendor optimisation, post-acquisition integration

HR reporting

Build, maintain and analyse the key metrics: headcount, turnover, absenteeism, payroll costs, workplace accidents

Monitor, calculate and file mandatory legal metrics, including the French Gender Equality Index (Index Égalité Professionnelle)

Employee support

Be the trusted point of contact for employees on payroll, benefits, contracts and HR policies

Ensure operational continuity by covering your teammate's scope across all core People Ops topics

Assignment terms

Location: Paris — hybrid, with regular on-site presence required
