Lead Engineer - AI Media Processing
Diffusely is an AI visual production platform for enterprise that redefines how automotive and fashion brands create and optimize visual content. Its AI-powered solutions help over 1,500 clients streamline production, cut costs, and accelerate time-to-market globally.
Autoretouch is our product for Fashion players. We provide brands and marketplaces with an AI solution that helps them create and edit their product images in a few seconds and at scale, all while delivering the best quality on the market.
Position Overview
Localisation: Paris (France)
Diffusely is looking for an Lead Engineer to join our 12 person Fashion team working on AutoRetouch. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee two engineers and shape the technical vision, architecture and reliability of the backend infrastructure that powers our image creation and enhancement AI solution. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate high fashion standards into robust technical solutions, driving innovation in fashion imagery.

AI Image Enhancement: We use computer vision and generative AI to automate the retouching of photos with advanced segmentation and features like AI-generated shadows. Already in-market, this product is delivering value to our clients by drastically speeding up production workflows.
AI Image Generation: This is our bold leap into the future of fashion. We are currently developing technology that generates high-quality visuals showcasing real clothes on AI-generated models all without the need for physical photoshoots. What you'll do:
Team Leadership and Development: Lead 2 engineers, ensuring effective onboarding, continuous training, and performance management. Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Hands-On Technical Leadership (Backend) : Directly engage in coding and problem-solving, embody a "lead by example" approach to uphold high standards and foster innovation within the team.
Code Quality: Promote and ensure the production of clean, efficient, and well-tested code. Mentor team members in adhering to best coding practices.
Ownership and Management: Own critical components (APIs, pipelines, features), ensuring reliability and integrity. Provide technical support to teams and deliver quick wins without disrupting key projects.
Delivery & Quality: Ensure timely project delivery with consistent, high-quality outcomes, while maintaining a sustainable workload through effective prioritization, delegation, and time management.
Budget Management: Oversee the financial aspects of your department, ensuring judicious distribution of resources.
Product Creation: Work hand-in-hand with the product team to translate tech potentials into impactful, market-ready offerings.
Qualifications/Skills
Minimum of 5+ years in engineering.
Expert Python, and hands-on knowledge of Linux (system, networking).
OpenCV proficiency with hands-on experience manipulating images and video (e.g. segmentation, transforms, masking, compositing).
Experience with SQL databases and queue-based processing.
Good understanding of industry practices: architectures, protocols, containers, security.
Experience with developing, operating, and monitoring cloud solutions (We are on AWS).
Practical knowledge on proper source code management, documentation, test pipelines, and CI/CD.
Team player with proactive approach and high sensibility for quality.
English skills on a working proficiency level.
