Fabrication project engineer

Le poste :

The Project Fabrication Engineer will support fabrication activities related to subsea structures such as PLETs, PLEMs, and associated equipment. The position requires hands-on involvement in fabrication follow-up, coordination with fabrication yards, schedule monitoring, and documentation management.
The role reports to the Project Fabrication Manager and involves daily interaction with engineering teams, procurement, and fabrication stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Support fabrication activities for subsea structures including PLETs, PLEMs and associated equipment.
Monitor fabrication progress and coordinate technical matters with fabrication yards.
Review engineering drawings, fabrication procedures and technical specifications.
Track material availability, material take-off (MTO), and substitutions where required.
Evaluate Site Technical Queries (STQ) raised by fabrication yards and propose technical solutions.
Assess fabrication issues and evaluate their potential impact on the project schedule.
Propose mitigation or recovery actions when required.
Support planning, reporting and fabrication documentation follow-up.
Contribute to the management of non-conformities (NCR), Management of Change (MOC), and risk assessments.
Ensure coordination with engineering, procurement and construction teams.

Profil :

Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience in steel structures and piping fabrication within the Oil & Gas industry.
Strong understanding of fabrication processes and constructability considerations.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications.
Basic understanding of welding principles including WPS, PQR, welder qualifications and NDT methods.
Knowledge of structural steel codes such as AWS D1.1 or equivalent and piping codes such as ASME B31.3 and DNV standards.
Understanding of subsea structures such as PLETs, PLEMs and associated equipment.
Experience addressing technical queries from fabrication yards and supporting problem resolution.

Certifications
Valid BOSIET (OPITO approved) preferred.
MFC certification preferred.
Seaman book considered an advantage.
