Software Engineer, Backend (Safety)
- Design and build highly-scalable, efficient, and robust trust and safety platforms and tools, including data tracking pipelines
- Develop systems to enhance data collection, compliance, and safety processes
- Create APIs and integrations with third-party services
- Create intelligent workflows including automating complex decision-making processes
- Understand product objectives to develop user-friendly platforms that align with operational needs
- Ensure safety services have zero downtime and can scale as our user base grows
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in designing data structures, building algorithms, and at least one programming language (Rust, C, or C++)
- Willingness to learn Rust if no prior knowledge.
- Great communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for user safety, human moderation, AI moderation, and operational efficiency
- Experience with Rust programming language
- Background in trust and safety tooling or content moderation systems
- Experience with web development and frontend technologies
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to online safety (DSA, etc.)
- Experience working with machine learning models and data pipelines
